- Lista Airport and Kitemill with mutual interest

The representative of the major owner of Farsund Lista Airport (FAN), Arne S. Mikalsen, is clear that he sees no contradiction between Kitemills activities at the airport and the owner's desire for a significantly increased activity on it.

Kitemill fits well in: As the representative for the major owner of Farsund Lista Airport, Arne S. Mikalsen, believes that Kitemills activities fits very well at the airport. - Kitemill contribute to increased value here, which we welcome, he says.

- Kitemill operates with aviation. We will have much more of aviation here. Our long-term goal is to establish a commercial airport. In that respect Kitemill contributes to an increased value here, which we welcome, says Arne S. Mikalsen.

Farsund Lista Airport or Lista airport as it is known of most people, is of enormous dimensions. It's 2500 acre of land, of which 2000 is farmland, are owned by three owners, where Arne S. Mikalsen and his family own the largest areas. This is the airport, while the surrounding country is owned by the two others. From the airport was established during World War II, it has over the years invested billions (NOK).

Want more commercial air traffic

Mikalsen believes that it will be economically completely wrong not to make use of the large investments that have been made. He believes that if the access roads from both Stavanger and Kristiansand in north and east had been improved, so will the framework for commercial air traffic at Lista have been much better.

Agriculture is a priority area

The airport is open to public use and is approved for VFR flight in daylight by plane. The airport's opening hours today is Monday to Friday 09 to 11. In addition to commercial air traffic, the owner wants to exploit the large areas of farmland, especially for agriculture. Today, in addition to Kitemill several other tenants are in the area. Asko has a large storage facilities for products related to oil and offshore industry, the local flying club, plus about ten local farmers.

Mikalsen family, investors with billions

Farsund Airport is Norway's southernmost airport located in Lista in Farsund municipality in Vest-Agder. The airport has good approach conditions. Runway length of almost 3 kilometers. The airport is operated by Lista Lufthavn AS, which is owned by Lista Real AS. This company is owned by Arne S. Mikalsen and his three sisters. This company is again owned by the 100 percent Mikalsen-owned companies Venturos Property, Venturos AS and JT Mosvold Eft. AS. The Mikalsen-wealth comes partly from shipping and data. Arne Sten Mikalsen is the leader of the family company Venturos, which was established by his father and Norwegian Data - entrepreneur, Terje Mikalsen. When Venturos was established in 2001 it had a billion Norwegian kroner in available capital. These values have increased over the years.
